water wells vs. water storage

I have a dear friend who is considering having a water well dug, to meet the number one need of his family during a crisis situation… drinkable water. Supplying the water need is crucial, but a well can be quite expensive. First there is the drilling of the well, including installing the well casing. This could cost $2000.00- $4000.00, depending on your area, for a well depth of 100 feet or less. Can the driller get his rig onto your property to the spot where you want the well? And do your city or county laws permit such a well under their jurisdiction…a big deal, to say the least. Assuming your local law permits it, after the well is dug, the pump itself needs to be purchased and installed. This may run $500.00-$1000.00 or more, even for a big hand pump. The little pitcher pump you have in mind can only lift water about 25 feet, sooo…plan for something larger.

A drastically cheaper but not quite as good an option is to purchase 3 or 4 of the big plastic 55
gallon barrels and store water in them. They cost about $60.00 eachand can be purchased at an industrial supply company. They are about 3/8th of an inch thick, tough and can be stored outside or in your garage, etc. You will need a small pump to extract your water. This is not an endless supply, but 200 gals. of good water is a good shock absorber while services, hopefully, are being quickly restored. You can also modify these drums to catch water from your gutter system on your house…this will need to be purified for drinking, but is great for flushing toilets.

Either way or another way, I commend my friend for planning to have water for his family!

It seems with all the warnings in the Bible and the obvious things happening around us that more would be prepared before things get too serious. Looking to restore supplies may not be so soon anymore with so many natural disasters taking place and if you add on top of them what an enemy can do then just how much help will come for America?

Jesus often said He was telling things to the disciples ahead of time so they could be prepared before it happened. Nothing should take a believer by suprise if he really is focused on what the Lord is saying and acting on it.

    God bless you John!
