As it turns out, the IRS uses data from the Social Security Administration data base, and that data showed my wife having a different birthday than the one she has celebrated across her life! She got her SS card and number through a small southern town’s SS office, and unknown to her, there was a slip of the pen somewhere along the line. Although she has had a SS# for over 40 years, just today the error in the data base surfaced…an error which made a transaction with the Federal Government impossible. We will correct this error with the SSA, but meanwhile nothing can be done. Is your vital information correct, especially in key government data bases? If not, correct the problem, or in a crunch you may not be able to get what you need!

Today the U.S. Government ( Dept. of Homeland Security) began to require passports for air travelers returning from Canada, Mexico, and the Carribbean to the United States. Imagine the shock, perhaps feelings of horror, at trying to return to the U.S. by flashing a driver’s liscence or birth certificate… and being denied entry! This time next year passports will also be required to reenter the U.S. by car or ship. It is time to get your passports, including passports for each child. Depending on your family size and finances, this could cost a chunk of money ( about $100.00 each).US passport
Having all your documents sqeeky clean, totally in order and up to date ( Did you know US passports have expiration dates!?) is a key survival/ service principle. In some senarios developments could come that make it impossible to get certain needed documents… get what you need now, safeguard them , and prepare to grab and go in a crunch. During World War II many Jewish men, women and CHILDREN perished because they did not have the “PROPER” documentation to leave Nazi controlled territories.
